The Economic Relationship Between the Tapoco Project and Alcoa's Tennessee Operations

Tapoco is a division of the Alcoa Power Generating Inc (APGI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Alcoa Inc.

  1. Tapoco Project: four-dam hydroelectric project located in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina
    • Three dams located on the Little Tennessee River, one on the Cheoah River, a tributary to the Little Tennessee (all a fairly short distance upstream of the Tellico dam and its famed ex-snail darters . . . )

  2. Alcoa's Tennessee Operations: an aluminum smelting and rolling mill, located in Alcoa, Tennessee

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows), Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows), Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows), Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows), Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac), Mozilla Camino (Mac), Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac), Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
